Packaging Specialties Inc. and the Biggs Family Gives $2 Million to Arkansas Children’s Northwest

Children Safety Center

PSI has been able to help the Children Safety Center raise money for their newly built advocacy center. It is the first child advocacy center in our area and was created to help prevent further trauma these children might endure during the complex process of investigation, prosecution, and treatments.

Busy Bees at PSI Earn Innovation Award

TechHelp honored PSI with the Fall 2014 Spirit of Continuous Innovation Award (SOCI) during a luncheon at the plant on September 11. Once per quarter, TechHelp’s governing organization, the National Institute of Standards and Technology Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NIST MEP), works with TechHelp to select and recognize an Idaho company that embodies the Spirit of Continuous Innovation that is at the heart of the NIST MEP mission. SOCI Award candidates are chosen from among the many companies TechHelp works with annually that create positive economic impact in the areas of sales, savings, investment, and employment. As Idaho’s Manufacturing Extension Partner and a partnership of Idaho’s three state universities, TechHelp provides resources and information that helps Idaho companies, such as PSI, succeed through continuous product and process innovation.

Mini-Cassia Care Center

Another way Packaging Specialties gives back to the community is by having employees collect & donate Christmas gifts yearly to the residents of the Mini-Cassia Care Center and Assisted Living Facility in Burley.

Helping Hands

Helping Hands began as a handful of people within PSI coming together and selling baked goods to raise money for Toys for Tots. Over time, it has blossomed into PSI’s Helping Hands.

2023
Circle of Hope is a local non-profit shelter serving battered and trafficked women and children. Towels, sheets, cookware, etc were also provided for our community.
Mission McGuire is a local non-profit serving our community veterans and homeless. Named after local Navy Veteran Justin McGuire who passed in 2021, MM provides necessities otherwise unattainable when living on the street. MM also assists veterans and the homeless with accessing shelters, addiction recovery services, mental health services and more.

2022
Chili Cook Off Fundraiser- Each year we kick off with a Chili Competition. Donations are made and votes cast. Everyone gets excited for this tradition and we have some fierce chili contenders! Each shift winner receives a gift card prize.
Rise Up for Beach- Rise Up for Beach is a fundraiser PSI
started for an employee who suffered with severe medical issues, and spent weeks hospitalized. Helping Hands raised money to ensure his family was taken care of while he was on the long road to recovery. We also went around the plant recording video well wishes to lift his spirits.
Coat drive for My Sisters Place battered women and children’s shelter and Good News at Noon Men’s Shelter- 6 large bags of coats, jackets, sweaters, hoodies, etc were collected and donated. The shelters were astounded at the amount of items that were donated and available for people who were living homeless outside during the winter months.
Bake Sale Fundraiser
Thanksgiving Turkey Vouchers- PSI Helping Hands teamed up with Revive Church (home church of our very own Chris Casey, Jason Born and Philip Fish!) to secure vouchers and other food items for 87 local families who would not have had a Thanksgiving Dinner
Toys For Tots

2021
Chili Cook Off Fundraiser
Bake Sale Fundraiser
Lyman Hall Elementary School- A local school with ties to our PSI family- Helping Hands was able to provide over 20 backpacks filled with the complete list of required school supplies, as well as extra materials for teachers. School faculty were vocally thankful and tearful. We heard stories of how often teachers are purchasing these materials from their own pockets- not always able to furnish all needed items for all lacking students. Lyman Hall Day was moving for all of us.
2020
Chili Cook Off Fundraiser
COVID Baskets- During COVID Helping Hands was able to put together laundry baskets full of essential items for high-risk individuals who struggled to maintain a sense of normalcy and were unable to venture from home. Baskets included items such as canned goods and shelf stable foods, detergent, toilet paper, cleaning/sanitizing supplies, crossword and word search puzzles, etc.
Bake Sale Fundraiser
Evelyn’s Place Animal Shelter- This shelter is an independent non-profit no-kill shelter that does not receive government assistance. Helping Hands donated food, litter, treats, pee-pee pads and more to assist these awesome humans in caring for our vulnerable furry friends.
Gainesville City Police Department- 2020 was a rough year for our brothers in blue. Our city had seen some violence towards our officers in response to unrest in our country. Helping Hands took pizza to the station to thank and support our officers for putting their lives on the line for us every single day.
